Neurosurgery Masterclass Series 2026 Singapore

On behalf of the Division of Neurosurgery, Department of Surgery, National University Hospital (NUH), we are pleased to invite you to the Neurosurgery Masterclass Series, Singapore, 2026, a series of academic and hands-on educational events taking place from 8–11 July 2026 at National University Hospital, Singapore.

This programme brings together three complementary events designed to deep-dive into fundamentals in core topics of intraoperative neuromonitoring and anatomy of the white matter tracts, as well as key updates to the management of gliomas. This program builds on successful past iterations here in Singapore, and aims to bring together neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, neurologists, neurophysiologists, neuroscientists, and allied health professionals from across East and South-East Asia involved in the management of gliomas.

The events are:

(1) NUH Intra-operative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Course - 8 July (Wed)

The Course will provide participants with a detailed understanding on the fundamentals and practical applications of intraoperative neuromonitoring of the brain and spine, alongside updates to the latest applications and translational work in IONM. Anchored by Professor Kathleen Seidel, the program is developed in collaboration with experienced neurophysiologists and industry partners.

(2) White Matter Dissection Course - The 4th Edition - 9 and 10 July 2026 (Thu - Fri)

This flagship Course will provide participants with a hands-on cadaveric dissection experience, reviewing key white matter tracts relevant to modern brain mapping and connectome-based glioma surgery. Anchored by Professor Eduardo Ribas (Brazil) and Professor Emmanuel Mandonnet (France), this Course aims to provide neurosurgeons with critical skills in understanding the white matter structure of the human brain and its importance to surgical approaches for intra-axial lesions and impact on human cognition. Course Capacity is limited to 20 participants for dissection on a first-come-first serve basis. There is also an option to participate as an Observer for this Course.

(3) Updates in Glioma Management Symposium (incorporating the Asian Low Grade Glioma Network (ALGGN) Meeting) - 11 July 2026 (Sat)

This multi-disciplinary scientific Symposium will feature a half-day programme dedicated to critical updates to the management landscape of gliomas in general, ranging from basic science to diagnostics and treatment. This is followed by a focused half-day session on low-grade gliomas where there will be wide ranging discussions on related topics including updates to medical and surgical approaches, cognition and neuroplasticity. A key feature of the ALGGN Meeting is a forum to allow Asian teams to share and learn from our collective experiences in Asia's loco-regional setting, and network within this niche community.
